Last September, I reviewed ThinkFree Office, finding it fast for a large Java application, but lacking in advanced features. Since, despite the name, it was also proprietary, I concluded that it was unlikely to be a major contender as a desktop office suite. Now, essentially the same product is available as an online office service. ThinkFree seems much better positioned in this niche than on the desktop, comparing favorably with such rivals as Writely and ajaxWrite.
